Warwick Castle was built about a thousand years ago. From its cold dank dungeons and haunted towers, to the exquisite Great hall, the castle has a long and varied history.

In the year 1604, King James the 1st gave the castle to a man called Sir Fulke Greville. The castle had stood empty for 14 years and as a result it was in a dishevilled state and needed extensive repair work. Greville spent a large amount of his own money renovating the castle and eventually made the place his home. The renovation of the castle included the building of a chapel.
