Visit the lakes in Cumbria and see lakes like Windermere where you can take a cruise on the lake and see Windermere in all its splendour. You could use the lakes as a stop off on the way to Scotland.
The Yorkshire Dales (Herriot Country) are very picturesque with limestone hills and valleys and has a preserved steam railway that could a touch of romance to your tour.
