Blackpool with its impressive tower that is a copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris France. It has so much to offer the holidaymaker all year round although it is at its best when the lights are on towards the end of the season.
Blackpool also is home to the largest Pleasure beach in Europe and has the Largest Rollercoaster in Europe in the Pepsi Max Big One. As well as the big one there is the playstation ride where you are hurled up a steel tower at very high speed. The pleasure Beach also has rides for those who dont like thrill rides but still want a bit of fun.
There is the Wintergardens which hosts some Antiques fairs throughout the season as well as shows and bingo and dancing. The three piers offer slot machines caberet acts fishing and all the usual seaside stalls (seafood, icecream and rock/candyfloss etc).
There are 7 miles of beach to stroll along and if you can the fish market at Fleetwood is sometimes worth a visit if you are on self catering holidays.
The lakes are only around an hour away and make an ideal day trip with the cruises on lake Windermere being very popular.
